Fairly easy to get in especially if you're a girlAug 17 2003Computer Engineering
Fairly easy to get in especially if you're a girl. The boy:girl ratio is 3:1. Average SAT's is in the upper 1200's to mid 1300's. Take AP sciences especially physics, you won't get in if you haven't taken physics. They give good scholarships to everyone. Most people who apply to RPI know they want to go there.
SAT: 1350 Female
About 60% of the kids who apply get inJul 09 2003Unknown
About 60% of the kids who apply get in; what they don't tell you is that most kids who apply have SAT scores ranging from 1200-1500, and an average GPA of 3.7. So yeah, it's tough. Do well in math and science classes (taking calculus and doing well is a big plus). Also, the kids who come here generally have a fairly good idea of what they want to do in life, and want to take advantage of certain first-class departments. (Computer Science, Bioinformatics, STS, and any type of Engineering are all amazing programs). So if you want to go to college just to explore yourself and take a bunch of general education classes...try a state university. If you've got a goal in mind and want to achieve it, go ahead and apply.
